In the 1990s, when Kobe Bryant returned from Italy to the US, he formed a hip hop group with his high school friends. The group’s name came from a classic Kung Fu movie, “The Kid with the Golden Arm.” The villains in the film were The Chi Sha gang, Kobe’s group called themselves Cheizaw, after them. Cheizaw signed to a major label, but were eventually dropped without a release. To celebrate Mamba Week and in honor of Kobe’s love for music, Franchise is creating a Cheizaw tribute shirt. The shirt will be available in limited quantities during Mamba Week and a portion of the proceeds will go towards a Philadelphia youth music charity to help inspire the next Cheizaw. Mamba Forever.
